Cross Country Trip 2012

We're on the road again! It's been three years since we traveled the United States and are so looking forward to doing it again in our new camper. Since this is our third trip across our country, we decided to visit places we've never been and to return to a few of our favorite places that we wished we could have spent more time at.

First stop, Port St. Joe Florida to Bryan and Megan's wedding. It was a FUN, FUN weekend of celebrations!

Things got a little rough after we picked up Maggie and Honey at the kennel and started our drive north to Montana. Maggie was pitifully sick, with non-stop vomiting and diarrhea. She ended up needing an IV to stop the diarrhea and injection for the vomiting. Honey came down with a mild case a few days later. To make matters worse, Dick and I both caught colds and sore throats. A week later things settled out and we ALL were good to go. Traveling was interesting to say the least.

Montana has always been one of our favorite places in the US. We decided to return to the Yellowstone River Canyon, north of Yellowstone National Park, after driving through the area on our first trip. We could not believe how beautiful the country side was along the river. After spending a week there, we headed west to Idaho and Oregon to visit Hells Canyon and Crater Lake. Both places were an absolute total surprise as to the scenic beauty! As we continued on to California, we drove through the Gold Rush Country and then down the coast from Monterey to San Luis Obispo. More unbelievable scenery and cool sites to see!

Starting our return back east after leaving California, we headed to Southern Utah. To us, the beauty of this area is the biggest kept secret of the west.
